We installed a Honeywell RTH230B thermostat on a Trane XE60 Air Handeler this winter. When we put the system on heat it works fine. However, when we put the system on auto for cool the compressor fan comes on but not the air handeler fan. On the air handeler the terminal strip from left to right is R W Y G B/C. The red wire on the R terminal comes from the contactor on the compressor unit. The other wire from the compressor unit is connected to a gray wire that goes to the thermostat. The W

Wiring compressor Replaced defective fan motor on my a/c unit. Old motor had three wires: black, yellow, brown. New generic motor has black, white, brown, brown w/white stripe. This new motor came with a new two terminal capacitor. Old cap. had three terminals. I have to replace the start/run capacitor (97F9971 - Duel Capacitor/ 50, 7.5 370 VAC). I have marked the terminals before removing and purchased the new capacitor. The new capacitor has minor difference with the old one. The hermatic has 3 terminals, The Fan has two terminals The Compressor (C) has 4 terminals. Now in the old unit, two wires were connected to two opposite terminals on C, one in Herm and one in Fan. My question is: How will I know which terminal to connect in the new one

All the terminals are connected together so it won't matter which terminal you use, just as long as you have the Herm, Com, and Fan wires correct. Hope this helps! ... Air Conditioners
