Having problems with your Air Conditioners ?

I installed a new honeywell rthl111 series in Oct. 2012. I wired the blue wire to the RC because that was how the old thermostat was wired. The heat worked all winter but when I tried to change over to cool nothing would work. I checked the schematics online and realized I should have installed the blue wire to the B. I checked the fuse in the power panel and saw I had blown it. I changed it and rewired the thermostat the correct way. I tried again and still neither the cool or heat will work. A

I have an amana rha36b2a heat pump and am trying to hook up a new thermostat. It's a pro 1 iaq t905 programable thermostat. I have hooked up the green yellow white and red (and ran a jumper wire from rh to rc). I also ran a jumper wire from W to Y. I ran the brown wire to C. The thermostat works great for heating but won't cool. When cool is chosen the heat comes on. Help! I know the O and B on the thermostat are the heat and cooling changeover valves but what should I do to connect them if that

I have an Amana RHE30A2B heat pump. I installed a new thermostat, Honeywell, last night and now the coils are not cooling & the unit is blowing hot air. I have double checked all the wiring & everything seems to work as it should. Is there a breaker or fuse on the outside unit that I am not aware of before I call a service man out. We also had an electrical storm last night. It could be a freak thing, but I am still concentrating on the thermostat.

Hello,If you can hear a click or see a light when you turn your thermostat from up to down you do have power there. Or, you can put a meter on your thermostat and see if there is any voltage or not. If not in either case, you can try this ... Amana Air Conditioners

Goodman GSH130301AB heat pump with Braeburn 1200 multi-stage thermostat - both less than 1 year old and installed in new construction. Heat can be set at 60, fan on AUTO, with room temp at 70 and heat will kick on and stay on. When this happens, turning thermostat to OFF does nothing - system continues to blow heat - and I can only shut it off by flipping the breaker. This only happens now and then - typically works fine. All wiring appears to be correct though reversing valve for cooling is

We installed a Honeywell RTH230B thermostat on a Trane XE60 Air Handeler this winter. When we put the system on heat it works fine. However, when we put the system on auto for cool the compressor fan comes on but not the air handeler fan. On the air handeler the terminal strip from left to right is R W Y G B/C. The red wire on the R terminal comes from the contactor on the compressor unit. The other wire from the compressor unit is connected to a gray wire that goes to the thermostat. The W

We live in southwest Florida. Our HVAC system consists of a air conditioning system with heating coils when it is cool. Yesterday morning we tried the heat nothing come on. Later in the day I tried the air nothing. I tried turning in just the fan nothing. I just checked the breaker I have power where the wires are connected. I have 5 Hampton Bay ceiling fans originally installed in my 2001 home. 3 have light kits and work great. I am trying to install lights on the remaining 2 but get no power. The 2 wires (blue and white) have the proper connections that match the connectors to my light, but no light comes on. I checked with a volt-meter and it gives me zero volts. All of my wall power switches are on and the fans run but no power down to the light connector wires. Can you help me? THANK YOU........Joe

HONEYWELL RTH230B thermostat: we just installed the honeywell rth230b. The fan is working, but it's not turning on the outside unit. We pressed down on the thermostat slightly and it triggered the outside unit on for a split second, but it wouldn't stay on. I installed the rth2310 and it seemed pretty straightforward. I had R, W, Y, G, on the old thermostat, and hooked them up to the same, with R to Rh with the jumper in place. Now, the snowflake cooling symbol is on all the time, and when I turn on the heat, it just runs all the time. This is a zoned system. I replaced another thermostat at the same time, and it works fine (it had a black wire going to Y, but otherwise the same).

Carrier thermostat Hello, My Carrier electronic thermostat is connected to a heat pump.  It was set to the COOL position during a summer thunderstorm when the AC suddenly began running no matter what the SET temperature was.  It works normally when I change it to the AUTO position.  The HEAT and EHEAT positions work normally. I tried cutting power to the unit for 2 days, after which it worked normally even on COOL, but after a short power failure it resumed the problem of running the AC continuo

I have a Tempstar model NFCP3600A1 (style # FCP3600A) ICP Heat Pump. Starting last week, the unit kept heating well over the set temperature. I swapped out the thermostat thinking it went bad, but it still continued heating and the "off" wouldn't work at the new thermostat either.
