Having problems with your Air Conditioners ?

I have an Armstrong COncept 1000 AC unit model #scu10e36a-2 that I need to clean the fins on - but I can't determine how to temporarily remove the grill. I want to prep it for the season and the fins and coils are filthy. Thanks for your help.

Dont worry about removing grill just make sure unit is unplugged.

I have an 8 year old 2 1/2 ton carrier compressor unit. I have already replaced the running coil and contactor. I now want to clean the coils and fan blades on the motor. I have never had reason to remove the top grill. Hey Bernie, it is possible to remove the 4 screws on the grill that the motor is mounted to (not the bolts holding the motor to the grill)and pull up and twist so its upside down and have someone else hold it as to not put to much stress on the wires ... Carrier 38CKC042 Air Conditioner

I have a unit that is about 1.5 yrs old. That AC is OK. When the Heat pump kick in, a strange smell exists. I have had the dealer out for trouble shooting and the tech discovered that the UV light was out and had "leaked".I still have the odor, it is not a dead animal smell. I have a Char Broil Gas grill, and ignition has become a bit of a problem lately. I can see the electric igniter sparking, I have been able to smell LPG and keep the lid open.
