Having problems with your Air Conditioners ?

We installed a 4 ton downflow coleman air handler with evap coil Model number 1854s2m we did not change out the outside unit. the outside unit is a 13 year old 3 1/2 ton intertherm condenser the system is only generating a 10 degree delta T. My question is, this coil came with a factory TXV I am trying to find out is this a 10 seer or 13 seer coil is it compatable with the outside unit.

Answers :

You have a missmatched system, for it to work try removing the orfice on the high side txv it is not allowing the evaperator coil to fill with refrigerant properly coleman and intertherm dont like each other since they control a large market in the manufactured housing heating and cooling units electricaly connecting the componets together no issue prefromance sometimes is the issue hope this helps

I recently bought a 4 ton 14.5 SEER Rudd Spilt system using R-410 and matching Rudd furnace. This system replaced a Lennox 10 SEER 4 ton unit. Now that it has gotten hot in Baton Rouge LA 90-93 degrees. I have a programmable thermostat see bottom. It takes the one hour to drop the temp. 1 degree so starting at 5:00pm the unit runs non stop until 11:30 at night. The Lennox was about 3 times better and it was 15 years old. The installer told me all high SEER units take longer to cool in comp

Just bought a new 3 ton 16 seer Trane for a 1700 square foot house, but it is not cooling properly. I can't get the unit to drop below 75 degrees. I had the unit on for 2 ½ hours starting at 8:00am and it dropped from 76 degrees to 75 degrees. The installer failed to change the AC amps in the circuit breaker to 45. Currently the amps I have now is 36. Does that make any difference. It is 86 degrees outside. Any advice to my cooling problem. ? Thanks

Hi,\015\012I would not get too excite4d about this yet...if you are 10 degrees cooler then the outside you are definetly cooling and the mass of the house is also warm because you have just started the unit...give it at least a day...more impor ... Air Conditioners

I am working on a M # GPG13420901AB. This is a 3.5 ton package unit that replaced a 3 ton package unit on 1700sq/ft single level home. Old unit was working fine but was replaced when the home was renovated. The new unit will not hold temperature in the home when outside ambient climbs above 83-85 degrees. Refrigerant pressures early in the day (70-80 degrees ambient) look fine 70 suction 200 high 9-11 degrees SH. Late in the day with outside ambients around 90-95 degrees, inside temps 75-78

It sounds like you are low on charge. I think you have a thermostatic expansion valve and you need to check the subcooling, you should have 12 to 15 degrees at 95. At 95 degrees your head should be about 280# for a 12 or 13 SEER unit or higher depend ... Goodman Air Conditioners

Hello, my HVAC is constantly freezing, even after freon is added. I was told that I have a leak in the coils and need to chance the air handler - the outside unit is about 10 years old - air handler about 18 years old. My question is if in the future can I use this same 3.5 ton air handler with a new 410 condensing unit once my outside unit needs to be replaced. In other words can a Goodman air handler be used firs

My daughter has a Bryant AC Model number 563AN048-A where the outside coils are freezing up. The repairman has been out twice and has cleaned the coils on the inside and outside units and has checked the coolant levels that he says are ok. Currently, if they remove the cold air return filter, air circulation is increased slightly and in doing so, the outside coil is not freezing. Can't run the system without a filter as the internal coil will clog. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Assoc

Then the manufacurer of the unit recommended to change the coil which he did and i

Hello. I have a RUUD-UBHA-21J18SFBA electric furnace with a 3-1/2 Ton condensing unit and matching A-coil. The furnace (air-handler) has the a-coil attached to the bottom and was initially used as a downflow system. Can I convert theis system to an horzontal flow system? If so, can the a-coil be removed and rotated so that the condensate pan will then be on the bottom again, thereby allowing for the proper colection and removal of the resulting condensation? Thanks. Air Conditioning I have a ruud system with the air conditioner outside and the air handler upstairs in the attic. My systems appears to be running, and I can feel cold air at the vents, but I can barely feel it. Like there is no flow. The fan outside is running and the unit in the attic is running. I have no clue what the problem is. The large coil coming from the heat pump outside is cold and has condensation on it. It also seems to have a little ice. It has been extremely hot here in Ge

The outside compressor and fan will not shut off. I have turned the thermostat system to Off and even to heat, but it will not stop.
