Having problems with your Air Conditioners ?

CARRIER HEATER AIR CONDITIONER MODEL 58PAV070-12 IS FLASHING A CODE THREE SHORT FLASHES AND THEN THREE LONG FLASHES. THERE IS 220 POWER TO THE OUTSIDE UNIT AND IT WILL START IF I PUSH THE SOLONOID AND MAKE THE CONTACTS TOUCH. THERE IS NO 24 VOLT SIGNAL TO ACTIVATE THE SOLONOID. IN AT THE FURNACE THERE IS NO 24 VOLTS ON THE CIRCUIT BOARD AT THE CONNECTION GOING TO THE OUTSIDE UNIT. THERE IS 26.5 VOLTS COMING FROM THE TRANSFORMER. WHAT TO DO NEXT?

Answers :

This means a high temp limit switch or flame roll\015\012 out switch has triped, check your air filter and clean or replace, than\015\012 watch unit when it runs and make sure the inducer motor is not slowing \015\012down or stopping.

The flame roll out, is the small safety switch\015\012 mounted above the main burners, if the flue pipe gets damaged or the \015\012inducer motor does not run at full speed the flames will try to come out\015\012 of the front of the furnace. This switch will shut down the gas.\015\012

Have you checked your air filter to see if it is \015\012clean? your furnace is overheating a dirty filter can cause this. First open all vents and see if it runs longer\015\012 if not, than try this, turn your fan switch from auto to on. Than\015\012 turn on the heat and see if it runs longer.\015\012
Also, we can't rule a faulty circuit board (ie: bad \015\012connection at board).\015\012
\015\012Hope helps.

I have an AR32-1 with an emergency heat switch on the thermostat. The heat pump runs and runs and runs and blows cold air when it's freezing outside. If I turn on the 'emergency heat', nothing happens. We do have three 220V breakers in the panel box. One is labeled 'heat pump', the other two are labeled 'furnace'. What could be wrong that the 'emergency heat' does not work?

The A/C unit control is powered from the 24 volt supply in a Ruud high efficiency furnace. The furnace fires up when the house thermostat is set for heating but there is no power in the line to the A/C unit when the thermostat is set to cool. The 24 volt transformer is delivering, and the fuse has not blown. Can you advise?
